The thoughts of Pellegrini (without comment)

This is one of those times when there really is little point – were I to be interested enough – in composing a story from Manuel Pellegrini’s quotes during his press conference.

Instead, today we will simply list his quotes which will allow you to make up your own minds whether they mean anything or whether we just move on!!

“Jack Wilshere continues with some pain.”

“Well of course all of us know we need the results. We have just five points from the last nine games. We need to return to being a consistent and solid team in the way we did against Chelsea and for 60-65 minutes against Arsenal. The points that we have are not enough for this team.”

“I think that lots of teams in this league have had bad runs. Good team with good players as all the other teams in the Premier League, and you must be very concentrated in defending and try to score as well. They have good players and it will be a tough game.” (Southampton)

“It is football and two or three balls can decide the score, especially in the Premier League. There’s a lot of reasons why the score in a game can change from one minute to another. The important thing is that you demonstrate that you can play well for a lot of minutes without conceding too many chances.”

“I always think as a manager that the results of the team depends on the individual performance of a player. After that you can work on tactical, physical and technical work but the performance of the players decide the games. We must try to work with the players and give them confidence.”

“We know a couple of wins can raise our team up the table. We are always talking in the way we must try to do it and not to change all that we are doing.”
