Another big days dawns in Hammers history and the simple fact is that Bournemouth have to be beaten. No ifs, no buts – a draw is unacceptable and I have little doubt the new manager knows it.

I’ve said several times before he is not my type of manager but frankly I don’t care how we win today (and how many times have we said that in the past).

The row surrounding Moyes rumbles on and with Pellegrini gone the heat has been turned on the owners – that was as predictable as New Year’s Day following New Year’s Eve.

For now, however, it’s Bournemouth and nothing but Bournemouth. We need an early managerial bounce unlike last time around when we went to Watford under Moyes and were beaten 2-0.

He has everybody fit, has talked a good game and apparently looked at a bunch of videos. There are a squad of players who need to impress and fast although, and I say this very quietly, they need to care.

Has he had long enough with the players? Don’t care – he has to find a way to win and I will be having a fiver on a cheeky 2-0.
