This player really does look the business
That’s no disrespect to the fella. I knew very little about him but £7 million really isn’t a lot of money these days and Championship arrivals can’t really be taken too seriously until they have had the chance of a decent PL run.
I understood why Slav had not given him his chance. Things were going really well so why fix it if it ain’t broke. Too many have done that in the past.
It’s far too early to make a judgement but my instincts told me on Saturday afternoon that this lad could be special and my immediate reaction was not to be too unhappy with the Victor Moses injury absence.
The Chelsea player has signed a new deal at Stamford Bridge and is costing £185,000 a game with wages, loan fee apportioned and appearances.
Has he been worth it? Very debatable!
Antonio on the other hand slowly started to excite me far more than Moses as he picked up the speed and eventually received a man of the match award on his debut.
Victor can frustrate with a tendency to overplay. Antonio’s power, pace, some devilishly quick turns and more direct approach was fresh and invigorating.
Ok, there was a naivety in his play and the final ball was lacking but that can probably be put down to lack of match action and I really want to see a lot more of this fella.
He looks the business to me and if he gets back to full match fitness over the next two or three weeks, Moses may find it hard to return.
Yep I really do like Antonio. Looks a real player.
