Ticket transfer to be activated
The club plan to launch the ticket forwarding functionality in March either for the Chelsea or Leicester City match.
The new ticket forwarding system will allow you to electronically transfer your matchday ticket to a family member or friend but only once the fixture has sold out.
Once you’ve transferred your ticket via your online account, your friend or family member will simply accept the transfer, print the coupon, and enjoy the match! Your Access Card will be temporarily deactivated for that fixture. Further details should be announced on WHUFC.com in the near future.
Technically as it stands season tickets are non-transferable except through the club. Although it goes on throughout the Premier League the loaning of your season ticket access card breaks your terms and conditions which could result in your season ticket being revoked in a worst case scenario if your guest misbehaves.
The reselling of football tickets is illegal under section 166 Criminal Justice and Public Order Act 1994. The act makes clear that a person will have committed an offence where they are unauthorised to sell tickets and sell a ticket for a designated football match, or otherwise dispose of a football match ticket to another person.Where a person is convicted of football ticket touting, they may be liable to a fine of up to £5,000 and also have a football banning order placed upon them.
The news of the ticket forwarding functionality follows the launch of Club cash last week which allows season ticket holders to view their balance and spend credit on season ticket renewals and other tickets.
