Training ground bust-up reports won’t sway Sullivan

Reports of training ground walk-outs and squad disharmony won’t sway the resolve of West Ham chairman David Sullivan who remains steadfastly behind manager David Moyes.

At this point it’s hard to verify differing reports of  the disgruntlement but it’s fair to say that there is some truth behind it. Two weeks ago Guardian journalist and confidante of David Sullivan, Jacob Steinberg disclosed in his newspaper column that some West Ham players had grown tired of David Moyes training methods.

The Hammers majority shareholder will be at least partially aware that all may not be well at the Rush Green training ground. However he still views Moyes as West Ham ‘s best chance of avoiding relegation.

This a view echoed by Sky Sports leading reporter Darmesh Sheth who said. “I don’t think it’s ever too late to make a change if you think that’s the right thing to do.

“But I genuinely don’t think it’s in the board’s mind or has been in the board’s mind to sack David Moyes. I still believe they have faith in their manager.

“Moyes has had a difficult season. He’d be the first to admit that.”

Quite what evidence Sullivan has seen to give him such confidence is anyone’s guess but one thing remains clear. Reports of training ground upset are unlikely sway him from his beliefs one bit.
