The Daily Star insists West Ham are still in the market for a loan midfielder after concluding their sixth signing for Ablian Ajeti later today.

The Star says: “The club have looked at free agents and potential loans but have yet to find anything that interests them.”

The Daily Mail goes one step further by suggesting the possibility of a triple signing with Ajeti, a loan centre back and a loan midfielder.

The Mail says “Swiss striker Albian Ajeti is signing from Basle for £8m and they also want a centre back and midfielder on loan.”

We know transfer rumours will come thick and fast on transfer deadline day as that is all part of the drama created by Sky Sports News.

The Hammers main business on transfer deadline day will be Ablian Ajeti but further additions will be a challenge without moving on or freeing up squad places.

West Ham have two home grown player squad places available following the departure of Josh Cullen to Charlton yesterday.

They already have 17 non-home grown players in the squad so someone like Xande Silva will need to make way just to fit Ajeti in the squad which needs to be submitted to the Premier League after the transfer window shuts.

Players under 21 do not need a squad place and are unlimited.
