Tributes to the Hammers and England hero, 1965 European Cup Winners’ Cup winner and 1966 FIFA World Cup final hero will begin pitchside at approximately 5.15pm – 15 minutes before the scheduled 5.30pm kick-off.
Brian Dear and Sir Geoff Hurst will pay their own personal tributes to the visionary midfielder, while a video montage will also be played on big screens, before the guests of honour welcome the teams to the pitch.
A floral shirt tribute will be carried out to centre spot before the referee David Coote’s whistle signals the start of a one-minute applause in celebration of the achievements of one of West Ham and England’s finest-ever players.
The Official Programme will also feature tributes to a man who made 364 appearances in Claret and Blue, scoring exactly 100 goals and creating many more.
