Tuchel admits lack of trust in Abraham

Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel has given the clearest explanation yet why perhaps West Ham boss David Moyes should not have considered buying Tammy Abraham.

Tuchel has admitted he hasn’t trusted the 23 year old to the same extent as other players in his squad which is an honest assessment not often heard in this game.

There are now strong suggestions that the player will be on his way to Roma following a £34 million agreement between the two clubs with Moyes admitting earlier that the prices being quoted were too rich for our blood.

Abraham was apparently the priority striker on  Moyes’ list of options but the move to the Irons now appears to have collapsed.

And that may not be too much of a concern given Tuchel’s comments on the player which come in brutal terms on Sky Sport per Hammers News.

The Chelsea boss declared in surprisingly frank terms to Sky Sports: “He was clearly not happy with the last half a year and maybe he has reason also not to be happy and maybe it was also my fault not to push him, not to trust him on the same level I maybe trusted other players,

“I can absolutely understand that he wants more minutes.

The decision will be ‘how do we plan, what are Tammy’s plans, does he fight his way back into the team from the position where he ended last season or does he want to change club to have the chance of being a regular starter?’”
