Nathan Holland – great vision and defence splitting runs

Brilliant Hammers prospect Nathan Holland has been ruled out of action until February with a ruptured hamstring but has successfully undergone surgery.

It’s a real tragedy for the teenager who would have been very much in line to take a place on the right side of midfield against Watford given the lack of options in that area this weekend.

The youngster has been seriously impressive on Under 23 duty this season and is well known to assistant boss Alan Irvine from their days at  Goodison Park.

ClaretandHugh was told this morning that the youngster would have been in with a chance  for the weekend but instead will be starting his recovery programme.

Holland received the injury during training and we understand that another impressive young Iron Josh Pask has also been hit with a similar problem.

That will make him unavailable for Friday night’s match at the London Stadium against Derby and a busy week which follows involving games against Benfica, Arsenal and a Checkatrade Trophy tie against Wycombe Wanderers..
