Valencia are reported to be interested in striker Maxi Gomez with Celta Vigo said to be keen on an offer that would see Santi Mina join them in the opposite direction.

Gomez’s release clause is set at 50 million euros and Celta say aren’t willing to accept any offers lower than this figure. According to Radio Galega, Celta would do business if Valencia offered 25 million euros plus Mina.

Both players are interested in a deal that would see Mina return to the club where he began his career. The Spaniard signed for Valencia from Celta for 10 million euros in 2015.

Celta paid Defensor Sporting just four million euros for Gomez in 2017 and he has scored 18 goals in 39 games in his first season with the Galician club. He also netted 13 times during the 2018/19 campaign to help save his side from relegation.

Mina scored 15 goals during the 2017/18 campaign before finding the net 13 times during the season just gone.

West Ham hasn’t completely given up on their pursuit of Maxi Gomez but a move to Valencia would be a big blow for them doubly so it meant that Valencia dropped their interest in signing Javier Hernandez for £8m to get his £140,000 per week wages off the books.
