Villa agree fee with Hammers target

Aston Villa are believed to be close to finalising a £9million move for Lille’s Idrissa Gueye who has often been linked with West Ham as a possible summer target.

Reports claim Villa have agreed a fee with the French Ligue 1 side for the 25-year-old Senegalese midfielder. He is believed to be flying to the UK tomorrow for talks and a medical in the midlands.

Gueye has been linked with West Ham, Crystal Palace,Southampton and Marseille in the summer but appears Villa have come in late to conclude a deal.

Reports in France last week suggested Marseille were closing in on the signing of the Senegal international, but more money was on offer from Villa and that has turned the player’s head it has been claimed.
