Walcott rumour – Sullivan jnr responds

Speculation that Theo Walcott is the subject of a £25 million West Ham inquiry from the Irons is well wide of the mark.

The rumour factory has been throwing up the Arsenal striker’s name for weeks but co-chairman David Sullivan has made it crystal clear on several occasions that he wants a 20 goal a season striker.

Walcott at 27 has only managed 26 in the last three and is a player whose potential has far outweighed his promise for a long time now – it won’t happen.

Indeed within the last hour Sullivan’s youngest son Jack has tweeted that the club is not interested in the former England player or his team mate Alex-Oxlade Chamberlain.

He said: “Just spoken to Dad and we are not interested in Theo Walcott or Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.”

This is no surprise to us over at ClaretandHugh where we reported last week that no deals will be done before the Euro 2016 Finals which manager Slaven Bilic will be watching keenly and where we are told by our sources he has some targets.
