Pablo Zabaleta said his last farewells to the Manchester City fans who have handed him cult hero status over his time with the club last night and is now firmly believed to be on his way to the London Stadium.

City gave him  special send off from the Etihad and even Status Quo’s Francis Rossi appeared on the big screen to thank him for being such a huge fan!

And a City insider friend of ClaretandHugh’s revealed this morning: “It is an open secret up here that he will become a Hammer.

He is understood to have agreed the deal which is believed to be in the region of £80k a week given he is a free signing.”

Zabaleta is a real warrior and it was revealed during last night’s farewell that he had received 124 stitches during his 333 games at City.

We were told: “He is believed to have been offered a one year deal by Pep Guardiola but the Argentine international right back didn’t believe he would receive sufficient game time and has decided to move on.”
