Wembley’s arch has been illumined in the colours of every football team who has played at the stadium since its reopening `10 years ago.

One hundred and sixty-six domestic, European and international men’s and women’s football teams have graced the Wembley turf in the last decade across a variety of competitions and friendlies. To mark the anniversary, and in a show of gratitude to all the clubs, Wembley Stadium displayed each of the club or national colours on the famous arch. The name and crests of the clubs were also shown on the outside of the stadium.

FA Chief Executive Martin Glenn said: “Wembley Stadium had a difficult birth but a decade on we can only be proud of what the stadium has become. It’s now Europe’s leading stadium and without doubt the venue of choice for global sporting and entertainment events.Having already hosted so many memorable moments we are looking forward to what the next decade will bring including Adele, the semi and finals of Euro 2020 and hosting Tottenham Hotspur next season. It can only get bigger and better.”

Five years ago today West Ham beat Blackpool 2-1 in the Championship Play-Off final to gain promotion back to the Premier League.
