Manchester United supporter Adam McKola who hosts a podcast and Youtube channel caused a storm on social media by claiming that West Ham supported booed players as they took the knee yesterday at the London Stadium.

McKola who was watching the match from home on Sky Sports publish a video from TV coverage which appeared to pick up booing when the players took the knee.

That claim was completely denied by everyone who was at the game, supporters in both stands, stewards and club personnel all said there were no boos and that fans were chanting: ” Come on you Irons!”

The London Stadium became the first Premier League ground to welcome back 2,000 supporters yesterday and all eyes were on West Ham after arch-rivals Millwall booed players taking the knee.   The Daily Express briefly ran a story because it wasn’t true.

Ian Abrahams (Moose) wrote via his Twitter account: “Contrary to some comments, West Ham didn’t boo when players took the knee pre-match.”

I think Adam should now accept his mistake and delete his fake news tweet.
