West Ham could lose out £19m in Barcelona deal
According to Spanish newspaper AS, Perez has emerged as one of Barca’s prime targets as they look to bring in another experienced striker.
But the Spanish giants would need to meet the £21million release clause set by Alaves more than £19m more that the £2m West Ham sold him for last summer when he had two years remaining on his contract at the time.
He had joined Arsenal for £17m in 2016 from Deportivo La Coruna but managed just one Premier League goal.
He joined the Hammers in the summer of 2018 for £4m on wages of £70,000 per week.
The striker made just four Premier League starts with a further eleven substitute appearances scoring three league goals.
He scored another three goals from four cup appearances to take his goal tally to six from nineteen appearances in all competitions.
Perez has scored nine goals from twenty-two appearances for Alaves this season.
