West Ham is expected to announce a substantial loss for the financial year that ended 31st  May 2020 within the next two weeks.

Companies house rules mean the club must publish their financial accounts nine months of their financial year-end.

That deadline is Wednesday 3rd March. The announcement is expected to show a decrease in turnover and a significant loss for last season.

The club accounts which need to be filed at Companies House online portal will reveal the first impact of the pandemic.

Losses for last season are thought to be around £40m, a lot worst than the £27m lost by the club in 2019.

Last year the financial accounts were released on 30th January but it is thought the club will hold back publication to as late as possible.

This season’s financial accounts which won’t be published until 2022 are likely to be greater still with over £50m of losses forecast so far.
