West Ham forward Oladapo Afolayan is set to sign for Bolton Wanderers on a free transfer, according to reports from the Manchester Evening News.

The youngster played 26 times for Wanderers over the course of last season  while on loan and saved his only goal for the big final day clash at Crawley Town.

His strike helped Bolton on their way to a 4-1 away victory, that sealed automatic promotion at the first time of asking.

Ian Evatt is preparing for a big summer at the club as he puts together a squad to compete in League One, and it appears Afolayan is firmly in his plans.

He struggled to make his breakthrough at West Ham, playing just 20 minutes of senior football for the club.

He scored in those 20 minutes, as he came off the bench against Doncaster Rovers in the fourth round of the FA Cup earlier this season.

Since his move to Bolton, he has played primarily on the left flank but also in attacking midfield and on the right wing.

His Hammers contract expires at the end of June and West Ham would receive some compensation for his development.
