West Ham have history with free keepers

West Ham has a long history of signing free agents or very little for their goalkeepers in the last 13 years.

Fabianksi broke that rule when the club spent a £7m transfer fee plus £5m in agent fes to sign the Polish keeper who won Hammer of the year last season but it was nine years before that since they  shelled out any money for a goal keeper.

Adrian, Darren Randolph and Jussi Jaaskelainen were all free transfers such like Roberto and David Martin were last summer while Joe Hart and Manuel Almunia were both loan deals.

Ruud Boffin cost the Hammers £270,000 from MVV Masstricht in 2010 while Péter Kurucz joined West Ham in 2009 from Ujpset FC for a £450,000 transfer fee.

Robert Green was our last multi million investment between the sticks when we paid Norwich City £2.7m back in 2006.

The Hammers are reportedly interested in signing another backup keeper with Premier League this January transfer window, lets hope its not another free transfer
