The extent of Manuel Lanzini’s hamstring injury will not be known until the results of a medical scan are known by Hammers medical staff which scheduled for this afternoon a source close to the club has confirmed to Claret and Hugh this morning.

A report by the Telegraph suggested the creative midfielder was out for four weeks but the source said: ‘No-one knows what grade of tear Lanzini has so it is all guesswork at the moment in the media. We should know more later

The same club source said the same can be said of Andy Carroll with speculation that he will not be seen for the remainder of the season adding: “Andy needs a number of additional tests and a second opinion before the medical staff can advise on the best course of action for his ankle, it’s too early to say whether he definitely needs to have surgery and how long he will be out for!”
