Keeper Paul Lopez has been linked with a summer move to West Ham or Chelsea.

The 25-year-old spent the 2016/17 season on loan with Spurs but failed to make an appearance and the north Londoners want him again this summer, along with West Ham it has been claimed. Chelsea are also keen on the glovesman, who will be sold for £36m this summer.

Lopez joined Roma last year from Real Betis for £21m and he’s made 34 appearances this season.

Born in Girona, Catalonia, López joined RCD Espanyol’s youth setup in 2007 at the age of 12, after starting out at hometown club Girona FC. He made his senior debut with the former’s B-team in the 2013–14 season, in Segunda División B.

In 2018 López signed a five-year contract with fellow top tier club Real Betis on a free transfer. Internationally he has made 5 appearances for Spain’s Under 21’s and 2 senior appearances for Spain.

West Ham have a 12-month option on Fabianksi who has one year left on his contract and with Darren Randolph, Nathan Trott and  Joseph Anang it would be very surprising if David Moyes were to prioritise this position over the summer.  West Ham hasn’t got a history of paying for goalkeepers with Fabianksi their record signing for £7m.

The suggestion that the Hammers are about to shell out £36m for a keeper this summer is completely daft.
