Usually, when a West Ham player sends a message to the board it is for all the wrong reasons but Edimilson Fernandes has posted a message on Instagram to thank the board in allowing him to move on loan to Fiorentina with an option to make it permanent.

Fernandes wrote: “I would like to say thank you to the board of West Ham to allow me to take this opportunity in my career and let me grow as a player, I wish the whole West-Ham family the very best for the upcoming season.  am happy & excited about this challenge coming for me in Italy with A.C Fiorentina. I’ll work hard to help my new team-mates & the Club. Forza Viola.”

Fiorentina will pay all of the 22-year-old Swiss midfielder wages plus a loan fee of 750,000 Euros with an option to buy of around 9 million Euros.

Fernandes, who has been capped four times by his country at senior level, joined the Hammers in the summer of 2016 from FC Sion and has turned out on 48 occasions for the Hammers.
