West Ham ref watch…oh dear!

Premier League referee Peter Bankes had a poor performance at the London Stadium yesterday with Brentford the main benefactor.

Probably one of the worst refereeing decisions of the day was when he gave a free-kick to Brentford because there goalkeeper dropped the ball on Antonio’s head, who was standing completely still.

West Ham fans also felt hard done by missing out on a penalty with a goalmouth scramble where Mikey was fouled.

Declan Rice and Vladimir Coufal were both fouled when a Brentford player came from behind them but each time the ref gave Brentford a free-kick against the  Hammers.

How their centre back Zanka managed to stay on the pitch is beyond me despite fouling all game at least seven times and yet Bankes did almost nothing as he lost control of the game.

Another missed incident by the man in black is when a Brentford defender just fell over right in front of the linesman and Bankes gave it as a foul against Jarrod Bowen, who was about a metre away.  Unbelievable!

I hope Professional Game Match Officials Limited (PGMOL) bring him up over his performance when they review it.
