West Ham have turned down an offer for Enner Valencia from Mexican side Tigres, according to Sky Sports this evening.

The Hammers are keen to offload the forward this summer to get him off their wage bill and remain hopeful a deal can be struck but the current offer is claimed to be too low.

Valencia joined West Ham from Mexican side Pachuca for £12.5m in 2014 after impressing for Ecuador at the World Cup in Brazil.

The 27-year-old struggled for consistency following his move to the Premier League and managed to score only 10 goals in 66 appearances for West Ham. Valencia spent last season on loan at Everton after being told he was surplus to requirements at West Ham by manager Slaven Bilic. He scored only three goals in 23 appearances and Everton decided not to activate the option to make his move to Goodison Park permanent at the end of last season.
The Hammers are prepared to cut their losses and take offers above £5m but it appears the Mexican side’s first offer is below that figure.
