West Ham spending to exceed £100m

West Ham spending is set to top £100m this summer but outbound sales are still likely to bring that down to net spend of around £75m.

The Hammers spent £22m on Issa Diop, £7m on Łukasz Fabianski, £10m of signing on and agent fees for free agents Ryan Fredericks and Jack Wilshere.

It appears Andriy Yarmolenko will soon complete his transfer for around £17.6m (20 million Euros) plus Fabian Balbuena for £3.5m (4 million euros)

This would take West Ham’s overall committed spending to just over £60m but the record signing of Felipe Anderson at £40m expected by the end of this week would bring the total to over £100m!

West Ham will still want to balance their books by selling some players that Pellegrini believes are surplus to his requirements.

These could include Michail Antonio £15m and Cheik Kouyate £10m which could bring West Ham’s spending within the predicted transfer budget.

Although transfer fees are spread over a number of years that works both ways and evens itself out. We are still paying for players we have purchased over the last three years and equally we are still being paid for players we sold in the last three years so a case of swings and roundabouts.
