Premier League new boys Huddersfield are preparing a £5m bid for Ashley Fletcher according to the Daily Mirror.

Manager David Wagner failed with a loan bid for the striker in January but he said to have retained his interest in the centre-forward.

Earlier this month the Mirror reported that Huddersfield wanted to agree on a season-long loan of the Hammers striker who made 20 appearances for the Hammers last season scoring one goal.

West Ham paid a £1m compensation fee to Manchester United for Fletcher despite being a free agent at the time of joining the Hammers last July. Flecther joined the Hammers on a four-year deal thought to be worth £20,000 per week to the 21-year-old.

The compensation was due to be set by a tribunal but West Ham and Manchester United agreed on the fee in April this year. If the deal comes off, West Ham will pocket a £4m profit in little under a year.
