West Ham target rejects move away from Sevilla

Youssef En-Nesyri, who was heavily linked to West Ham in the last transfer window looks set to remain at Sevilla this summer.

Reports now suggest he wants to stay at Sevilla despite receiving several lucrative offers, his club and international teammate, Yassine Bounou has revealed.

En-Nesyri, who scored 24 goals in all competitions last season was a major target for David Moyes earlier this year with Sevilla turning down two bids.

If Bounou’s latest assertion is to be believed, the 24-year-old is set to reject advances from any clubs including Spurs in favour of staying at the Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan Stadium.

When asked about En-Nesyri’s future, the goalkeeper told Marca: “He is a player who wants to be in the club, he has commitment, and that is important.  “He has offers everywhere and collects better, but he wants to be in the club. He wants to improve his performances and his level. It is important to have players like that. It is a forward who gave us something else, with more play in space, in addition to position. Youssef still has room for improvement, which is exciting for the team and the club.”

Last January David Moyes had confirmed that West Ham had made a bid for the Sevilla striker.

Speaking to reporters during a press conference the manager confirmed the bid, saying:  “We have made an offer for him, Yes.”

West Ham reportedly made a £22.5 million bid for the Sevilla striker with another £4.5m of add-ons but the £27m package was rejected.

Reports at the time suggested that an improved offer of £25m rising to around £32m was also rejected suggesting they wanted £35m all up front.

En-Nesyri joined Sevilla for £18m from fellow La Liga side Leganes less then two years ago.
