West Ham summer target Jamie Vardy could reportedly become an Arsenal player within the next 24 hours if paper reports are to be believed. Last night, it emerged that negotiations with the 29-year-old  were being fast-tracked after the Gunners triggered the release clause in his contract.

According to the Daily Mail, talks have progressed at “an accelerated pace” with “only formalities” now left to conclude. In addition to the Hammers.

Vardy’s proposed contract with Arsenal is for a four-year term and is worth £120,000 a week, around double his current salary with Leicester. Vardy’s wife hit out today at abuse she received from Leicester City fans  “Listen LCFC fans don’t come at me with abuse! I have nothing whatsoever to do with calling the shots in my husband’s career! Its unfair”

It also now seems a foregone conclusion that another former Summer Hammer target, Zlatan Ibrahimovic will join Jose Mourinho at Manchester United on a one year contract. Ibrahimovic’s agent, Mino Raiola, is said to have reached a deal with Manchester United over the Swede’s salary. The 34-year-old, is available on a free transfer after leaving Paris Saint-Germain at the end of last season, Ibrahimovic had been looking for a salary of £220,000-a-week to join United and the club have agreed to those demands.
