Bournemouth goal keeper Asmir Begovic has jetted out to Italy to complete a medical at AC Milan.

The 32-year-old returned to the Cherries last week after spending the first half of the season on loan at FK Qarabag in Azerbaijan and was reported to be on a list of goal keepers that West Ham were considering to replace Roberto to act as cover for Fabianksi who is injured again.

Begovic was a £10million signing from Chelsea in 2017 but started the season as Bournemouth’s third-choice goalkeeper behind Aaron Ramsdale and Artur Boruc. He lost his starting place after a string of errors last season.

Begovic is reported to be undergoing a medical at AC Milan to replace the club’s No.2 Pepe Reina, who is close to joining relegation-threatened Aston Villa on loan.  Begovic will provide back-up to Milan and Italy goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma. Darren Randolph’s transfer to the Hammers remains on hold while they monitor his recovery from a thigh injury.
