West Ham’s obligation to buy

Former Slavia Prague forward Stanislav Vicek says Tomas Soucek’s loan will automatically become a permanent deal if West Ham stay in the Premier League.

Vicek who now employed as a scout by Slavia Prague was speaking  Czech media outlet Ruik  when he made the claim.

It had earlier been suggested that West Ham had an option to buy on Soucek if they survived relegation but sources in the Czech Republic insist it is an obligation if the Hammers survive relegation.

The Slavia Prague chairman Jaroslav Tvrdik previously confirmed the finances of the transfer of Tomas Soucek to West Ham explaining on social media that there is a €4.5m  (£3.75m) loan fee and an additional €16.2m (£13.5m) to make the deal permanent if West Ham stayed in the Premier League.

The twenty four year old  scored 10 goals in 19 appearances for Slavia Prague this season and has 25 international caps for the Czech Republic.
