West Ham’s possible Europa League opponents

The Europa League Round of 16 draw is being held tomorrow and West Ham will find out their European destiny.

Having won their group, the Hammers did not have to play in the knockout play-off stage, which saw second-placed teams from the groups face off against the teams that dropped out of the Champions League.

There have been some corking ties too, with Rangers beating Borussia Dortmund in a genuine thriller and Barcelona and Napoli playing out a superb tie too.

The list of potential opponents are below.

Sevilla (Beat Dinamo Zagreb 3-2 on aggregate). 

FC Porto (Beat Lazio 4-3 on aggregate).

Atalanta (Beat Olympiakos 5-1 on aggregate). 

RB Leipzig (Beat Real Sociedad 5-3 on aggregate).

Barcelona (Beat Napoli 5-3 on aggregate). 

Rangers (Beat Borussia Dortmund 6-4 on aggregate).

Real Betis (Beat Zenit St Petersburg 3-2 on aggregate).

Sporting Braga (Beat Sheriff Tiraspol 3-2 on penalties after a 2-2 aggregate draw) 

The glamour tie, of course, would be a meeting with Barcelona in the next round but there is also the potential of the Hammers facing a Battle of Britain against Rangers.

Manuel Pellegrini’s Real Betis are also an intriguing option, as are the German side RB Leipzig, who play a very attractive brand of football.
