Westfield shopping centre has raised serious concerns over West Ham’s game with Newcastle on Saturday 23rd December which they say will be one of the busiest shopping days of their year.

Adrian Hodgson and Rashdul from Westfield Zaman told the London Stadium Safety Advisory Group in September of their concerns.

The minutes for the 6th September meeting say “Westfield raised their concerns over the forthcoming game scheduled on 23 December as this is a very busy day for WSC, and requested to be involved in the partners planning meetings.”

Westfield also advised the group that development plans for Jamie’s Passage which could affect match day pedestrian flow are currently being designed and once finalised will be shared.

Westfield notified the safety group that the planning application for the permanent gates at Chestnut Plaza had been submitted. West Ham is thought to have an unwritten agreement with the Shopping centre not to play home games on Boxing day which is the busiest day of the year for Westfield.
