What a bargain Coufal has been

Vladimir Coufal was a stand-out performer for West Ham against Manchester City yesterday.

The 28-year-old old fashioned defender stood up to a dominant City in the second half and also managed to provoide the assist for  Michail Antonio’s amazing scissor kicked goal in the first half.

The Czech mate of Tomas Soucek is a much better defender than Ryan Fredericks who has been forced to the bench since his return from injury and he has also spoilt the chances of Ben Johnson getting into the starting line-up for now.

Jeremy Ngakia’s snub to West Ham now seems like a distant memory and I have no doubt that Coufal would be in front of him too.

The Hammers paid just £4.5m for the Czech right back from Slavia Prague and that now seems an absolute bargain in today’s market.

Maybe we need to scout more Czech Republic league players after the great successes of Tomas Soucek and Vladimir Coufal.

Word has it we were planning to sign a Czech league centre back but ran out of time in the recent transfer windows, maybe we will be back for him in January.
