What David Moyes wants in the transfer window

David Moyes wants to strengthen in three positions plus will consider a new striker if two forwards leave in January. He will have a budget of around £25m available to him plus whatever he brings in from outbound player sales in January.

It is no secret he wants to strengthen the midfield which will be one of his top priorities.  The Hammers have been linked with a host of midfielders but renewed interest in William Carvalho is likely to be the main target with the two clubs kissing and making up. Everton’s Morgan Scheiderlin could be another option with the Scotsman watching him today with Big Sam preferring to get Steven N’Zonzi in as early business.

A new centre-back is another area Moyes wants to strengthen with James Collins and Jose Fonte on borrowed time. England U21 International Alfie Mawson is a top target but I am not sure the board will fork out the full £25m valuation Swansea have in mind. Reading centre-back Liam Moore is another name who has been linked. Sunderland centre-back Lamine Kone is another name in the mix.

Right back is the next position which needs attention with Sam Bryam said to be on borrowed time with Moyes not sure it can make the Premier League grade. Zabaleta isn’t getting any younger as he will turn 33 in January and the Hammers want a good right back as an under study.

Everyone has a price it is said Ayew has a club valuation of £20m, Hernandez £16m, Sakho £12m and Carroll £10m and if serious offers came in they would be unlikely to stand in their way for the first one or two deals. Should two forwards leave in January then a new striker would most likely be brought in to replace them but if only one forward leaves Moyes may just decide to strengthen the midfield.
