Wilshere contract decision

West Ham have no intention of doing a pay off deal with Jack Wilshere should he continue to suffer injury problems or loss of form.

The midfielder has made just 14 PL appearances since joining the club prompting suggestions of a loan deal or mutual arrangement allowing him to find a new club.

There was a time a few years back when doing deals with such as Modibo Maiga ( remember him?) when such a deal was almost on the cards in his last season.

That’s not on the cards now for Wilshere, who remains a valued member of the squad by the boss,  or any other Hammer.

A well placed insider insisting the club will honour its contracts with all player whatever the prevailing circumstances.

Jack – with a £100,000 a week pay deal – would stand to earn nearly £5 million in the last year of his deal but the club are not interested in paying him a smaller sum up front and allowing him to leave.

Our insider told us by e mail: “We honour contracts and make no decision on ending or extending until them until they are approaching their end.”
