Jack Wilshere has left West Ham United.

The midfielder who received around £5 million a year plus agents fees to play a handful of games for the club has become part of Hammers  history after a deal was stitched together for him to leave.

The move to the London Stadium was one of the most ill judged in even our often dreary history  but the club has finally got rid of the injury ravaged former England star.

Although no definite details are available we understand that he received around 85 per cent of what was remaining on his contract which would be about £3.75 million.

He was brought in on a three year deal during Manuel Pellegrini’s spell in charge under David Sullivan, but has been regularly injured or ill and unable to make any real contribution to the club at all.

Under the terms of the cancelled contract deal he is now out of contract and free to join another club.
