Jack Wilshere sounds more determined than ever to ensure the Hammers fans see the absolute best of him.

And he is ready to force his way into the team which tomorrow faces Norwich i a game which can see the club make it three wins on the bounce.

It’s obviously easy to be cynical after a player has gone through such a difficult time during his career but the former Gooner and England midfielder needs all the help he can get.

And he sees that in terms of minutes on the pitch after a spell which has again seen him laid off for months although whether he is still ready to complete 90 minutes remains one of the big questions.

Bt after a positive display against Newport County in the Carabao Cup his confidence seems high and he is talking up his future prospects.

Nobody with the club’s interests at heart will be doing anything other than keeping everything crossed for a bloke who at his very best is as good as any player in the game.

He is reported at https://www.teamtalk.com/news/no-more-false-dawns-as-jack-wilshere-makes-double-pledge-at-west-ham  as saying: I’m working every day of the week. I’m improving, I’ve played some games, got some minutes and I feel like I can really push on now.

“It’s difficult when you come to a new club. You want to have a period of time in the team.

“It was frustrating and I didn’t feel I was part of the team. It was important for me to have a good pre-season, stay around the boys and be training and improving every day.

“I’ve done that so I feel good, and I just want to play as many games as possible.

“I’ll keep giving my all in matches and see where it gets me. I want to be the best I can be, if that was the level that I was at before then brilliant.

“If it’s better, then hopefully I can push on and improve every aspect of my game and importantly stay fit.”
