Winners medal for Dawson

As West Ham celebrated their first European title since 1965, it is right and fitting that a European winners medal for Craig Dawson is on its way to the central defender.

We are celebrating after winning a their first major trophy for 43 years and first European title since 1965.

A breathtaking last gasp goal from Jarrod Bowen gave West Ham a 2-1 win over Fiorentina to see the Irons lift the Europa Conference League

Hammers fans are quite rightly in dreamland after decades or hurt, disappointment and turmoil.

One man who played a massive role in West Ham’s resurgence under David Moyes over the last few years is no longer with the club.

Craig Dawson sadly left the Irons in January to move further north for family reasons.

And it was revealed this week that Hammers hero Dawson, now with Wolves, WOULD receive a winners’ medal when  West Ham lifted the trophy.

West Ham were given 40 medals for their triumph in Prague. And the club fully intend on setting one aside for Dawson.

And his medal will be fully deserved for the part he played in West Ham’s European adventure and top seven finishes in the Premier League over the previous two campaigns.
