Woeful away form laid bare

West Ham has not won an away game in seven games since the end of December, losing six and only drawing against Crystal Palace.

The rut started with Burnley on 30th December with a 2-0 loss followed by Bournemouth with another 2-0, next came the embarrassing exit from the FA Cup to AFC Wimbledon 4-2, Wolves  were next to tun us over 3-0 followed by the 1-1 draw against Palace, a narrow 1-0 loss against Man City and finally our 2-0 loss against Cardiff 2-0 yesterday.

In those seven games, we have conceded 15 goals managing just three in reply and two of them were against League One side AFC Wimbledon and none of those goals came from open play.

Our away wins this season have been restricted to AFC Wimbledon 3-1 in the Carabao Cup although they went down to ten men,  a 3-1 win over Everton last September.

December last year was our finest month on the road with a 3-0 win over Newcastle, a 2-0 win over Fulham and 2-1 win over Southampton.

Something is not working away from home and Pellegrini needs to work it out quickly if we don’t want to give up on our season now.
