Yarmo may become a ‘victim’

Andriy Yarmolenko may be the first victim of Michail Antonio’s expected return to action later this month.

ClaretandHugh revealed earlier that the 30 year old is expected to join the first team squad for the match against Spurs following the international break after recovering from a hamstring injury.

And there were definite signs against Newcastle that after a bright comeback the Ukranian’s form may be slipping while there were hints that Manu Lanzini could be starting to get back to his best.

Hammers former star Tony Cottee wrote in a recent CandH blog that both players could find  form after a return before struggling to maintain it after long spells out.

That has certainly been the case with the Argentine midfielder and it could be that Yarmo is now suffering a reaction after TC’s explanation that initially you find yourself playing on adrenaline.

With Robert Snodgrass back in top form, and withstanding injuries, it would appear that Michail is likely to be the natural sub for Yarmo and partner to Seb Haller.
