Yarmo says goodbye

Andriy Yarmolenko has posted a heartfelt farewell to West Ham after the final game of the season.

The Hammers lost 3-1 to Brighton at the Amex Stadium on Sunday, meaning that the Irons did not manage to secure a sixth-placed finish and will subsequently be playing Europa Conference League football next term.

Yarmo came off the bench late on against the Seagulls, playing the final nine minutes of the Premier League season.

It means he has ended his Hammers career with 86 appearances and 13 goals to his name, along with seven assists.

The 32-year-old, of course, became a hero earlier this season with two notable late winners after his homeland of Ukraine was invaded by Russia.

The winger has now taken to Instagram to say goodbye to the Irons supporters, issuing a heartfelt message to the Irons fans who have supported him since he arrived in 2018.

He wrote on his social media page: “Today is time to thank West Ham and say thank you for the four years I spent in London. In every match, I gave all my strength, every goal – gratitude for the support of our fans. Hugs to all teammates, coaches and club staff.  I continue to believe in this team, and I wish new victories and good luck!

“I’m waiting for a new challenge in my career, I really want to play and win!  Now all the forces and focus is on the most important Ukrainian national team matches!”
