Yarmolenko gets shocking news

Andriy Yarmolenko has received the devastating news that he is out for the rest of the season.

Suspicions that the Ukranian had damaged his achilles have been confirmed by the club to CandH this afternoon and he has immediately been ruled out for up to six months.

It’s shocking news for the wide man who twisted his foot and went down in agony before being stretchered off in agony.

It’s the second long term injury sustained within just nine games with  Carlos Sanchez also ruled out until next season.

We were told by a source inside the club: “Andriy has ruptured his achilles and will undergo am operation next week. He will be out for six months.”

Yarmolenko has suffered achilles problems in the past whilst playing in Germany but the circumstances under which the new injury took place can’t be attributed to his previous problems.

The only upside is that the Irons have alternatives in the position.
