Young Hammer Marcus Browne is showing his potential while on loan with Oxford United. The video clip below was released by his loan club on social media last night with the hope of being picked up by Sky Sports Soccer AM.

Browne joined the Hammers at the age of 8 and progressed through the academy at the club before signing his first professional contract on 12 November 2015. In 2016, Browne made his senior debut in a Europa League fixture against Astra Giurgiu. That game finished 1–1 as Browne replaced Gökhan Töre in the 75th minute.

In 2017, Browne joined Wigan Athletic on loan until the end of the 2016–17 season. He made his Wigan debut, and what turned out to be his only appearance, on 29 January as a second-half substitute in a 4–0 FA Cup defeat to Manchester United.

In July 2018, Browne joined League One side Oxford United on a season-long loan. Manager Karl Robinson said of him “He is technically very good, he sees a pass and will score goals so he is very talented and we know there were a lot of clubs chasing him.” In August he made his league debut as a substitute during a home defeat to Fleetwood Town in the second game of the season. Browne scored his first goal for Oxford, a header, in a 2–0 win against Coventry City in the first round of the 2018–19 EFL Cup on 14 August. His first league goal, a “superb solo goal”, came in a 3–2 home defeat to Accrington Stanley a week later. He has now scored five goals from 18 appearances for Oxford including one last night against Forest Green Rovers.
