West Ham’s youngsters have been told to “get off on the right foot” and “make an impact from the start” if they are called on for tonight’s match against Fulham in the second Hammers pre-season friendly.
Academy director Terry Westley was delighted with the way his youngsters performed in the opening pre-season against Sturm Graz on Monday evening and wants more of the same.
Nathan Holland, Josh Cullen, Toni Martinez, Moses Masaki and under 23s skipper Declan Rice all caught the eye as the Hammers battled out a 0-0 draw.
And speaking to ClaretandHugh Westley said: “I thought they did well and they need to be on the front foot from the outset tonight.
“It’s all s very competitive and if they get the chance this evening that’s how they have to approach it. I’ve been in touch with them and having conversations since they got out there.
“It’s another big chance for them and I’ll be hoping they can all step forward again.”
