Banished Iron’s position described as a “mess”

Morgan Amalfitano looks to have burned all his West Ham bridges.

And ClaretandHugh can reveal that a possible move to St Etienne broke down in August.

There is now very little chance of peace breaking out between manager Slaven Bilic and the player after disciplinary problems saw him banished to training with the Development squad.

We understand that the French club were interested in signing the player at around two million euros but that they couldn’t meet Amalfitano’s personal terms.

The midfielder allegedly wanted around the same sort of pay deal as he has at West Ham which was clearly unattainable  and that the move broke down as a result.

We were told that with 21 months left on the player’s deal it was hoped  something could be sorted out between the manager and player.

But a highly placed source said: “Nobody can see it happening. It’s a stand-off and to be honest a real mess.”

If he has broken club or managers rule then surely he can be fined his wages,
Then he would either leave the club or get his head right,
He would no longer get in our team unless we lost at least 6 midfielders through injury,
He was brought in to play the Hippo way,
He does not tackle that well, does not work off the ball for team mates, and does not have the speed we need to break in our new style,
Time to end the stalemate 2 Daves get involved stop the pay check that will start the negotiations

Sorry lads but I don’t and never have rated this bloke !
He’s lazy and would never work hard enough in any role given to him !
He’s also arrogant in his approach to authority and that will cause disruptions in the squad !
He is not and never will be a west ham way player , he lacks discipline and in my opinion is a hot and cold average player who is also no spring chicken !
He also sounds like a mini adeeyore money is more important and would rather stay at a club where he isn’t welcome anymore !! Quite frankly he couldn’t cut it with the squad we have in place and he probably knew that in the first place hence the early bust up with Bilic
We have two different types of Frenchman in our club and one is a team player with a pleasant attitude and the other is the sort that hides his money under the soap and thinks
Of no 1 only !!!!!! Get shot of him asap!!!!
Never rated and never wanted him here !!!

Shame that Amalfitano can’t step up, apologise and restart his career with us, he is a very good player when motivated to be so and has a good eye for a goal and key passes. If personal terms can’t be agreed and he will not be in the first team ever, then pay part of his contract up and write off the debt. In fairness other than the odd posts on the West Ham forums there doesn’t seem to be any negative press coming from the player, either that or I have missed something ?

A stand off ? Well, what does Amalfitano think he can achieve here ? It certainly won’t convince other teams to pay him the personal terms he is looking for.
The only way he can play himself into the minds of other managers at foreign clubs is by actually playing and he will only do that if he makes a move and apologises to the manager. With our current squad and his position as manager Bilic has the upper hand here, Amalfitano doesn’t stand a chance to win this stand off.
