Brilliant night at the London Stadium of noise

Hammers 1 Leicester City 1

arnau2It was truly the fans night – yes the team gave them something to really cheer in the second half with a magnificent display of guts, graft and no little skill.

But they were clearly inspired by the supporters who proved that the London Stadium can become a theatre of noise which can bring back the Boleyn spirit …and it’s what we HAVE to do.

Having gone a goal behind in the seventh minute via come awful defending notably from Angelo Ogbonna, they kept on scrapping and got their equaliser right on half time when Cheik Kouyate ose to thump home a power header from Lanzini’s special corner.

From there on it was West Ham, West Ham and more West Ham with Marko Arnautovic in particular demonstrating that he can be full value for his record Irons fee.

He was in the game for the 67 minutes he was on the pitch, firing in numerous crosses, fighting and tracking back – everything we were told his game was not about.

The visitors simply couldn’t get out of their own half as the Hammers showed more energy and commitment than they probably have all season.

The fitness and determination are back but the quality isn’t just yet which was shown in how few chances we created but it will be – it will come.

It was a great game and this Hammers team will flourish under a manager who commented that those levels of commitment are simply a “given” in his world.

This was a world away from Slaven’s days as a squad we had been condemning and smearing showed spirit, fight and total determination.

If David Moyes can manage to create this sort of change inside a couple of weeks anything is now possible. Blimey even the horrible negativity we have all had to put up with across the social media networks might even get a rest.

But make no mistake – this was the night when the fans were the men and women of the match!

  1. I hope the message is given loud and clear to Ayew that diving is not acceptable at West Ham.

  2. Really good atmosphere second half.the team were a little better, but I think Leicester made us look good. At least a bit more passion from certain individuals.

  3. Looked like a trip but then made it look fake ! Never got booked ? Might get looked at ?
Adrian saves the goal too ? I watched it in slow motion !! Don’t know how it looked on TV but hart can’t get down ! Maybe I’m being to critical because I think he’s past his best ?

    • I agree on Adrian but I never thought Hart would be better coming in but thought he has been given his chance but Adrian is better shot Stopper & much faster.
Hart scares me going to his left even w slow balls. He is slow getting of the line & reaction time.
Adrian to me should be put back in bc I don’t see point in making Hart permanent.

  4. Yeah one of the best atmospheres at the LS, take some getting used to singing we are david moyes claret and blue army but it was one of my highlights and was good to stamp around and clap the hands just to keep warm 😀 all of us watching played our part and was nice to hear lots of positive comments. We have everton then a really tough run but if we keep making these baby steps and in that tough run if we manage to win the cup game that will set us up for a big new year COYI !!!

  5. Much better from the farce of Bilic, looked fitter, needs to start Sakho ahead of Carroll and just use him for the last 20 minutes like stoke do with crouch, he is only any good running on to crosses in their area and considering our team can’t cross it’s pointless him starting. As they say defend form the front but Carroll can’t run Sakho chases everything if not fit I’d play a fit Antonio up there. You must have pace up top. Cut out the sloppy mistakes and we should be fine.
