Hammer Molinari wins the Open

Well, had I known beforehand I’d have had a bet on him given that it now turns out Open winner Francesco Molinari is a Hammer.

In what turned out to be a riveting afternoon’s watching at Carnoustie, the 35 year old lifted the most famous trophy in the game and immediately let the world know on Twitter that he’s a Hammer.

And checking out the personal bio of the guy who lives in Fulham shows this fella is no flash in the pan fan.

It says: “Molinari stated that he is a fan of English football team West Ham United after Italian football manager Gianfranco Zola started managing the East London side in 2008.

And he tweeted his favourite things in life saying “Gold mainly, Family before everything else. Then Inter and West Ham.”

The Italian produced an amazing final round of 69 to become the first Italian to sin the trophy to win the title with a -8 at a wild and windy Carnoustie..

  1. The club should go all out to invite him to our first home game.
A great PR move and a full house against Bournemouth
