Not to be undone by his manager Slaven Bilic, Cheik Kouyate was captured on camera singing and in high spirits at last night’s Player Awards at the London Hilton in Park Lane.
Team-mates Diafra Sakho and James Tomkins spot a camera as Kouyate sings “We’ve got Payet“ and suggest he quietens down but undeterred he breaks into another chorus louder than ever.

Kouyate: “We’ve got Payet…Ha Ha Ha”
Tomkins: “Cheik, save it for Saturday”
Sakho: “Ssh, ssh, ssh, ssh, ssh”
Kouyate: “We’ve got Payet”
There is no suggestion that Kouyate, who is a devote Muslim was drunk or even drinking alcohol and we understand he was just caught up in the excitement of the moment.
