London Stadium upgrades CCTV system

London Stadium is undergoing an upgrade of their CCTV system to Dallmeier Panomera security cameras.

In the Newham Safety Advisory Board minutes from April, it was revealed that there were some issues with a fibre cable and the legacy CCTV was down for a very short time during the Burnley game last season when troubles flared.  The old system was installed in 2008 for the 2012 London Olympics and was in desperate need of an upgrade.

Since the Burnley incident, the speed of the CCTV upgrade has been accelerated. The new Panamera cameras which look like speed cameras use a multifocal sensor system which was specially developed for the all-encompassing high definition video surveillance of expansive areas like Stadiums.

This coming season all the seating areas within the stadium will be covered by the new CCTV technology.
