Moyes will do best to get the “right players” in

LanziniWest Ham boss has pledged to do all he can to bring in players after Manu became the latest player to join the walking wounded.

After the Argentine midfieder had hobbled off to be replaced by goalscorer Chicharito the boss said: “Manu has a bit of a hamstring, Cresswell’s was just complete cramp and he should be ok.

Manu is the problem and we hope it isn’t serious. We’re short on the bench at the moment, we’ve got a lot of injuries, but the boys are doing a great job and some of them had to play 120 minutes in midweek, so great credit to them.

“We could do with a body or two coming in, so we’ll try to do that. We’re working on it and we’ll try to get the right players and people who we think can help us.”

Giving his appraisal of the 1- 1 draw he said: “I think with 15 minutes to go I might have said ‘I’ll take the point’, but prior to that we had some good play.

“I think in the first half especially we played some really good football and we missed some big chances today. We just missed that clinical cutting edge to show how good that football had been.

“I’m thrilled with how we reacted to their goal. Normally when you lose the first goal in the Premier League it’s very difficult to get back, and I don’t think there’s too much between the teams in this part of the table.

“It keeps the momentum going. We’re nudging along, making progress, the most important thing come the end of the season is not to be in the bottom three, but in the same breath I’ve got my eyes looking up to see if we can make the top ten as well.

“The first thing is making sure the back door is shut and a point today wasn’t the worst result.”

And of Chicharito’s goal he declared: “It’s the kind of reaction that he’s abou. We know that’s what he does – he’s the sort of centre forward who has made a living out of being a fox in the box and scoring at every opportunity they get.

“Chicharito needs those sort of opportunities and we need to get more of the ball in the box. There was that one, and we put a great one in just after it across the face of the box, but we needed him today. All the boys here will play a part and Chicharito helped us today.”

  1. I only hope Moyes gets his finger out & finally buys some players it has been obvious for a long time that the team needs more creativity in midfield & possibly someone to stop the opposition from playing through our team also we need to get rid of some dead wood ie Carroll, Sako & Ayew.

    • +1 on bringing in creativity & would sell AC but injured & if sell Sakho & Ayew aquae I so thin selling one we would need a back up like Smolov who is wish we would get anyway. But I wouldn’t sell if 3 players unless replacements. If Ayew goes bring in creator like Maddison if Sakho goes Smolov.
But we need to buy & Moyes is supposedly going to Inter Roma game tomo hoping to see Mario play but he might not even play. I like that he wants to see players play live but not always possible.
I think w Dendockner at £15m and wants a move we should be bringing him in a DM who can pass position we need.
Also likes Shelvey who Rafa as put up for sale to fund buying Cainrey. Not my first choice but if Moyes wants him let’s make it happen.
If Arnie & Noble get injured then what.

We need 2 players without selling any & then in summer can do & overall if needed. I’d rather keep Sakho & play him then give him away on loan like him or not is our most rounded CF.

And we have needed creativity for year in a half. Love to bring in Maddison Elynoussoui even Mario tho he would be short term.

Sameulsen was creative & I worry that they are 22nd & got thumped 6-0 by Fulham might not of been best loan for him tho he created chance or two think mid table would of been better bc he is a very good player but need to send this kids out on loans were they will succeed not to battle relegation

  2. No mention of arnies hammy ?
Could be a very busy week ahead or maybe because of injuries not on the selling front ,
We can’t sell anyone ! We need depth as the current situation shows at present !
We need to spend some money ! Not doing so could hurt us !!.
Same as JRS , bentdoctor 😂 smolov , Madison , super Mario would be a good start until the summer 😉 let’s get busy west ham and pull the proverbial finger out 😉

  3. Nice irony that just as it seems Carroll might get moved on he gets himself injured. There has to be a way to get this millstone off the club’s neck. It is just crazy.

  4. Three players would bring us what we need in the middle. For the DM part, Dendoncker, who needs to go to another level (has done it all at Anderlecht and is plateauing right now). For the creative part, Riyad Boulebouz (I saw him playing for Montpellier, he is the same type of player as Lanzini, maybe a bit stronger physically), and/or Morgan Sanson, who also played for Montpellier and now at Marseille. Another one I like a lot, but won’t happen now, is Youri Tielmans.

  5. You’ve only got to look at our bench today to see we need 2/3 good signings in asap. After next weekend we play Sat – Tue – Sat again. How many more hamstrings are we going to tweek?
